  • Do I have to be a member to be a part of a Conundrum show?

    • No, anyone can participate in Conundrum shows! However, members get guaranteed performance opportunities in our “Community Show(s)” each year. For  our 24/25 season, “Newsies” and “HAIR” are both Community Shows. To participate, members need to fill out an audition form to indicate role preferences, reserve an audition slot, or indicate self-tape for the creative team to review on our Self-Tape Database. This guarantee only applies to ensemble roles, specific roles are cast at the discretion of the creative team, and preferences cannot be promised.

  • Do I have to pay dues AND volunteer?

    • No! We ask our community to pick a membership option that works best for their circumstances.

    • There are three ways to keep your membership active each quarter: (1) volunteer 6 hours; (2) pay dues of $275/year or $25/month; or (3) hybrid of paying dues of $15 and 3 hours.

  • What happens if I sign up for membership after the Community Show?

    • We are happy to advocate for our members to be represented in Conundrum Shows, however *we cannot guarantee* a particular role or performance outside of our Community Shows. The creative team will be notified of community members and asked to consider membership as a factor when making casting decisions.

  • I completed more than my required hours. Can I use them for the next quarter? Do hours roll over?

    • Hours roll over for quarters in the season you registered under. Hours do not roll over into the next season. We understand the importance of flexibility within our community, and are happy to work with you to keep your membership active and in good standing.

  • I didn’t complete my volunteer hours for Q1. Am I still eligible?

    • Yes--for the 2024/2025 season. Because it is the first quarter we’ve done this, we are allowing people who did not complete their volunteer hours in Q1 to qualify for membership benefits. However, if you did not complete your volunteer hours in Q1, you must complete them in Q2. Note: at the beginning Q2 of the 2024/2025 season, all hours must be completed within their specified quarter.

  • What happens if I do not complete my volunteer hours, or pay dues?

    • Members must complete their volunteer hours or pay dues per quarter to be eligible for membership. If your hours are not completed, or you have an outstanding balance for dues, you will no longer be eligible.

    • Note: Volunteer hours roll over to quarters within the same season year, but reset at the Season Announcement.

  • Is it a yearly membership or a membership for the season?

    • Membership is per season. (We are currently in the 2024-2025 season). Quarter 1 begins with the season announcement.

    • Quarters last three months. Quarter 1 is July 1- September 30, Quarter 2 is October 1 - December 30, Quarter 3 is January 1 - March 31, Quarter 4 is April 1 - June 30.

  • Where do I send my hours?
    • We expect our cast to assist with things like load in and strike and as such, these do not count as qualifying volunteer hours. However any participation in set building, costumes, or props throughout the rehearsal process will count towards your quarterly hours.
